After the last few days when every SEO pro, and his dog, wrote about the Interflora penalty, I decided to take a look into the case. What I found out is that, in my opinion, Google seems to enforce another old guideline. That is:
Google Advertorial Update Mockup
I ran an indepth analysis on cognitiveSEO for Interflora and some of its top competitors, that are still ranking. Here are some of my findings.
1. The Interflora backlink profile does not look more unnatural, that a [...]
Another week … another highly requested feature is launched.
After our latest successful upgrade last week, with the new Visual Link Explorer, here comes another feature. This new feature extends the overall functionality of the cognitiveSEO toolset by allowing tagging and tag filtering.
What is a TAG in cognitiveSEO?
TAG = “A label attached to something for identification or other information.”
We added color to make it easy to spot and differentiate among various tags.
Approximately six months ago we started the implementation of what is probably the most powerful, beautiful and easiest way to visualize a site’s link profile. The name of this new cutting-edge feature is:
Visual Link Explorer - Cutting-Edge Link Graphs Made Simple
This is the easiest, yet advanced, visualization that allows you to comprehend the ever-growing complexity of a site’s link profile.
No other SEO tool has implemented automatic extraction, creation and navigation of Link Gr [...]
We all know that content is king nowadays for those who are looking to boost their organic online presence. With most back links being devalued considerably, and Panda chewing up inadequate content left, right and centre, it is becoming incredibly daunting for those looking to promote their businesses online. How can they get ahead? Google tells us to create as much useful and informative content as we can, both for our own websites and sites we are looking to promote our brand on. Links from [...]
I start this post by saying:
Thank you for such a Great First Year &
Happy Birthday cognitiveSEO!
This week we just moved up on the age scale. We just turned 1!
Back in December 2011, after a year and a half of continuous programming & development, we launched the
Rewinding time, I can say that it was quite an exciting day. 2 hours before the expected launch time our ISP had a connection issue and we were cut off. You just can't imagine [...]
A few days ago Krumel told me about a weird ranking that he saw on the international Google search for the brand name "Skype". Google lists the Russian version of the main Skype page in places 2 or 3 depending on the search location. This happens on almost any international or local search. The first result is always the correct result (correct site language) for the tested countries (UK,Netherlands,Germany,Russia). On the US version it did not happen always.
I started digging around and [...]
Last night Alex Graves from Bronco posted an article discussing the Payday Loans niche and how he thinks that the Google algorithm has been gamed, even after the Penguin and EMD update.
I tweeted to him, the payday loans case study that I did back in June (this was the first case study of its kind, that ignited a series of articles talking about how the payday loans niche is abused in Google). He is saying that this new site ranking on the "payday loans" keyword in the UK was not a hacked [...]
After Bing released their disavow tool, now it's time for Google. A lot of people waited for this tool from Google, as with all the "Penguin" updates this year, a lot of webmasters were left in the dark having their sites penalized with no ability to remove those low quality links successfully.
As Google warns you this is an Advanced Tool and should be used with caution. It can harm your site's rankings in Google.
What cognitiveSEO will do for you is give you the needed tools to [...]
I just received this mail, in the morning, from a certain "Steven Robert" whom I never talked to before asking me to publish his SEO article.
Here is the mail. Straight to the subject wouldn't you say :) (FAIL)
What is his name again ... Robert or Robart ... !? ( FAIL)
This is a bulk mailing with a WORD file attached containing the "master SEO piece article" ... ( FAIL AGAIN)
And he wants to rank for "search engine". Hey Google ... you got competition! (TOTAL FAIL)
Quick Idea: [...]
Finally I got to the point where I can write this. We have been continuously working for the last 5 months on this upgrade. To put it simply, this is the biggest upgrade to cognitiveSEO yet, and it improves the way you analyze backlinks by adding even more link data points into a new & simplified user interface.
In the age of raw link data and hundreds of SEO metrics, we are improving the backlink analyzer concepts used in our tool by providing:
Fresh & Complete Link Data [ [...]
