I think that PageRank is a standalone metric that Google uses internally for evaluating websites and stopping bad guys against link farming.

No doubt, the guys who stand behind Google have not invented anything new for the past recent years.

Before December 2018, they have been undertaking various experiments with the behavioral factors. Unfortunately, since then they decided to return to the roots/basics.

The only ranking factor which is actual in 2018 is PageRank. I’m disappointed in Google. The recent updates ruined a lot of websites.

All that the guys from Google can say is just that “don’t worry; everything is fine with your site. We only re-evaluated the formerly underestimated websites.”

Yes it matters, the core essence remains the same but now sophisticated and equipped with complex calculations, page rank is now a part or you can say a branch ,an important one of a ,of a bigger tree.

Do you think these days page rank has been replaced by a combination of Like Domain Authority and Page citation scores? Or do you think its still considered as standalone metric internally by Google?

You did a great job! Well explained and great info-graphs. “Spammers artificially inflated the backlink profile just for the sake of having lots of links on domains with high PR. The problems appeared when some people focused on getting a large number of high PR pages with few effort without realizing it is not enough. They avoided content and lots of other ranking factors which had a great importance as well.”
