The Internet and the Search Engines have changed the way we search for information, do research, entertain, shop and connect with other people. Below you can find the visual history of “Search” and “Search engines” that we created. Hopefully it’s a “simple to digest” & useful resource for anyone looking to learn more about the history of “Search”. We present to you cognitiveSEO’s “The History of Search” [1990-2014] Infographic.
I’ve seen a couple search engine history infographics, but i have to say yours doesn’t just look the best, in terms of design/style/colours, but it also has the best content. Compared to some of the other infographics i’ve looked at, the content on them has been rushed because the designer clearly spent so much time trying to get everything to look nice – they forget the most important thing, the content!
tks for the appreciation Craig. a lot of research and design/redesign was put into it 🙂
Superb infographic, very well detailed. A lot of effort has clearly gone into this and its shows. Thanks for sharing.
tks for the appreciation Rob
super infographic, very cool and reach of information;
by the way, “google stops providing keywords data for Adwords”.. which kind of data do you mean ?
simply they just cut the referrer data, the same way it was cut for organic data.
nice infographic but data or content can be bit more with details.
Great infographics, thanks for sharing.
I was actually very comfortable in the early days of Lycos, Altavista, and ?Infoseek. I find it incredible that it has taken us so long to arrive at Google – decades in fact – it just shows that relevancy is such a complex, ever-evolving game. And yet, even now, there is so much room for improvement in Google.
Would you happen to remember the search engine that focused on the Comments section from websites? I went looking for it today and can’t find any mention of it.
